At KNAU, an NPR member station in Flagstaff, my reporting focuses on rural and tribal communities in northern Arizona.

In particular, I write about water, mining and public lands. I’ve earned awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Public Media Journalists Association.

My radio pieces are regularly rebroadcast on NPR programs such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered and Weekend Edition. My words have also been featured in Rocky Mountain PBS and The Daily Yonder.

I'm a journalist reporting on politics, water and the environment in the West

My background

  • I’m an award-winning reporter who’s worked for NPR member stations in Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona.

  • As the senior politics reporter at Wyoming Public Media, I filed stories from the state Capitol building that simplified complex legislation for our listeners.

  • I’m most proud of my coverage of the hard-right Wyoming Freedom Caucus.

  • Now, I write about energy and water from Flagstaff, including an investigation on strong-arm tactics used by a French developer in pursuit of a hydropower project on the Navajo Nation.

  • When a flash flood roared through the Grand Canyon in 2026, NPR came to me for national coverage.

  • I did multiple radio stories and live interviews with NPR hosts in the first 24 hours of the flood, when 15 backpackers were missing or unaccounted for.
